MEMBER NEWS: Arts in CT Finds New Home in Milford, CT
MILFORD, Conn. (August 5, 2016) - Arts in CT Corporation, part of a family of like-minded companies with over 20 years of experience, including the Performing Arts Academy of CT, has just opened its doors in Milford, Connecticut. Arts in CT, founded by Barbara Alexander, hopes to bring the experience and love of all things creative to the community.
Arts in CT functions as an artist agency, offering 65 different creative programs hosted by professionals and specialists in various artistic fields that cater to daycares, senior centers, after school programs, restaurants, local paint nights, and more. Always looking to make sure that the arts are available to everyone, scholarships are available for those who qualify.
The nonprofit is currently searching for future stars of the stage for its three youth-based theater productions, which will be performed later this year. The Tiny Tot Theater is looking for children aged 2 to 7 to star in 101 Dalmatians. The Children’s Theater, for those aged 5 to 15, is casting for its production of Shrek Jr. Teen Theater, created with those aged 13 to 18 in mind, is searching for stars for Legally Blonde Jr.
Classes are taught by local certified instructors and professional artists, and are aligned with national performing arts standards from the NAfME, Arts Edge, and the CMEA. Committed to convenience, Arts in CT offers classes at local facilities, and also as part of their Arts S.T.O.P. (Street Team Outreach Program) initiative, in-school and at home lessons. Virtual lessons via Skype, FaceTime, and more are also available.
