SUMMARY OF POSITION: The City of Milford is committed to providing its citizens
and customers with increased service and satisfaction through efficient
review and processing of permit applications, prompt, effective and accurate
field inspections, and an assurance of safe, code compliant construction
through a commitment to expanded use of technologies, as well as courteous and
professional interaction.
This is
supervisory and technical work enforcing compliance with building codes and
regulations. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Permitting
& Land Use or Chief Building Official, an employee in this class is
responsible for directing the inspection of all buildings to determine
adherence to standards of construction, maintenance and safety involving
structural, plumbing, electrical and heating components. Work requires a basic understanding of
technical construction projects.
Supervision is exercised over a group of technical inspectors and
clerical subordinates concerned with obtaining compliance with building,
electrical, plumbing and related codes and ordinances, and effectively
communicates the progress and status to the DPLU Director.
