Made in Connecticut - an Author Visit

Born and educated in Connecticut, Cynthia Parzych is a writer, book publisher, editor, and professional chef. She lives in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in The Old Parsonage, built in 1693, where she runs her publishing company and a food business, using the produce grown on her property and sourced locally to make sauces, soups, pesto, pickles, vinegars. jams, and marmalades -  all sold from her house and farm stand under The Old Parsonage label.

She will be visiting Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., Milford, on March 8 at 7 pm.   She will be talking about her book Connecticut Made. This book is a wealth of knowledge about local businesses, craftspeople, and artisans in our state.

This is what she says about the book, “The research and writing of this book sent me, a Connecticut native, on a nostalgic journey of rediscovery. In my presentation, I'll talk about the spiritual "road trip" I found myself on to produce this book, and I'll recount some of the things I learned about Connecticut's creative entrepreneurs, and what motivates their supporters to be so loyal.”

This program may inspire people to take their own road trips to visit local businesses, and support them by buying Connecticut made products. By doing so, we can all contribute to the pervasive sense of community in the Nutmeg State.  Certainly, if they get on the road and engage, they will have a lot of fun finding out what goes on in this state, which is chock full of entrepreneurs.

As Parzych puts in “Such a journey just may change their lives, because it certainly changed mine. “
