Woodmont was mostly farmland for 200 years, however during the late 1800’s several hotels opened and the first true summer cottage on the water near Oyster River was built. Trolleys arrived followed by a real estate boom, allowing hundreds of summer residents to enjoy the sun, salt water, seafood and recreation.
Katherine Krauss Murphy,
author of ‘Woodmont on the Sound’ is a life- long resident of Milford and has
lived in Woodmont for over 40 years.
You may call the Milford Senior Center at 203 877-5131 for
