On Saturday,
March 3rd, 2:00 pm, the ECC and Milford Library are sponsoring a
film and open discussion all about TRASH. It will be led by Steve Johnson, our
Open Space and Natural Resource Agent and Acting Assistant Public Works
Director.
Trash
disposal and recycling are vital community services that we rely on for our
quality of life, our health and the health of our living environment, our
economy and our future. So what can we
do about it?
Sustainable communities are seeking to reduce consumption, minimize waste and maximize recycling all of the natural resources we consume daily. Introducing the 5 Rs, REFUSE (unnecessary items); REDUCE; REUSE; RECYCLE & ROT (home composting) are all ways we can help to do our part to create a more resilient future. As the only species that creates trash, learn why and how communities around the world are embracing creative programs in becoming more responsible caretakers and managing our society’s waste.
All people
who share these values to live more sustainably, join other like-minded people
who are making a difference in our community and all our futures.
