"The Last Mrs. Parrish" author visit at Milford Library
On Saturday,
November 11 at 2pm, Milford Library welcomes debut author Lynne Constantine and
her sister and writing partner, Valerie. The sisters have collaborated on a thriller that has just been published
by HarperCollins, titled The Last Mrs.
Parrish. The book is a mesmerizing
psychological thriller about a woman who worms her way into the lives of a
wealthy golden couple from Connecticut by befriending the wife and seducing the
husband. Lynne lives here in Milford, and
her sister lives in Maryland; they co-wrote the novel by email and FaceTime.
The writing process can be complicated with two
authors. “Most sisters argue over
borrowed clothes or who had it easier growing up. My sister, Valerie, and I have disagreements
about our imaginary friends,” says Lynne with a laugh. Together they are writing under the name “Liv
Constantine,” and it looks like they’ve got a hit on their hands. Library Journal calls it “a deliciously duplicitous psychological thriller,” and best-selling
author Lee Child describes it as “deliciously chilling and
creepy—some of the best psychological suspense you’ll read this year.”
Valerie chimes in, “It’s been said that
writing is a lonely profession. In our case, nothing could be further from the
truth. It’s brought us closer, given us great belly laughs and great insights
into our own psyches. And no one understands the anguish of rejection or the
joy of accomplishment like your co-author. The bond of sisterhood is a precious
gift. To be lucky enough to create together makes it priceless.”
