Yale Science Diplomats, a dedicated group of Yale graduate
students, continue their series Science
in the News by presenting “Three Ways to Kill Humanity : the Science of Human Extinction” on April 17 at 6:30pm, at Milford Public
Library, 57 New Haven Ave. These
lectures are aimed at helping all of us to understand complex scientific theory
in easy, everyday language.
Dystopian novels often portray scenes of human extinction,
but scientists are actually imagining scenarios where this might occur. Pandemics, overpopulation, nuclear
annihilation are only a few of the ways humanity might disappear. This lecture will help us to understand how
science is working to understand and prevent a catastrophe of unimaginable
proportions.
This lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
