Community Thanksgiving Virtual Service

Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 6:00 PM -- The Milford Clergy Association's Virtual Thanksgiving Service will premiere on Facebook and YouTube. Check with your faith community, or visit: First United Church of Christ (Congregational), Milford, CT

Pause in this season to give thanks for God’s blessings. Take 10 minutes to gather together with the Milford Clergy Association, hear from Mayor Blake, listen to sacred music, surround yourself with beautiful images from Milford, and pray with local clergy.

The service will be available for viewing at your convenience after the premiere!

Donations will benefit Beth-El Center's No Freeze Shelter.

A Milford Christmas tradition carries on! With social distancing, masks and procedures to keep everyone comfortable and safe, come get into the Christmas spirit and pick out your special tree. There will still be lots of cheer starting November 27th, when freshly cut premium balsam & Fraser fir Christmas trees, wreaths and cemetery pieces arrive from Canada. Get in the Christmas spirit and support St. Mary School! The stand will be open weekdays 5:00pm–9:00pm and weekends 9:00am–9:00pm. We sell out quickly, so don't wait too long! Milford Historical Society

Historical Society Open for Christmas Shopping

The Milford Historical Society’s Country Store will be open for Christmas shopping on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. on Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20 at the Bryan-Downs house, 34 High St.

If you are new in town or know someone who is, we have a number of Milford history books and reproduction maps of the early settlement that make great Christmas gifts. There’s also a children’s coloring about local history.

There are dozens of old-fashioned toys (no batteries needed!) that will fascinate children. The small toys make great stocking stuffers. The store also offers candles, Christmas ornaments with the Society logo, two kinds of soap, sachets with lavender from this summer’s MHS herb garden, mineral samples, prisms and more.

For your safety, customers’ temperatures will be taken by a non-contact forehead thermometer. Please wear masks. Social distancing will be expected, and a hand-sanitizing station will be available for use before and after you shop. There is a Plexiglas shield at the sales counter.

The best part is that you can shop at your leisure and avoid crowds at malls and big stores. The building and restroom are fully accessible. For more information, call the Society at (203) 877-2264 or check out milfordhistoricalsociety.org.
