So Tell Your Story
Make your message memorable, impactful, and profitable
Learn how to craft a message that you can say with confidence and that will make your ideal clients listen, pay attention, and want to work with you. Your ability to talk about what you do in a way that makes your ideal client’s ears perk up is a key ingredient to running a business that has consistent clients. Talking about what you do can seem like a nerve-racking experience where you fumble through words that don’t sound like you and where you leave your audience confused and uninterested. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Introducing yourself and what you do can be enjoyable and many times the first point of contact before your next client.
What you’ll walk away with is:
· A fresh perspective on how to reframe the conversation around what you do
· Insight into where you are sabotaging your ability to connect with people when talking about what you do
· A working “pitch” that you can use anywhere from networking events to...  More >>

John Whelan 50th Anniv. Tour w/ Dylan Foley and Conor Hearn

P.V. O’Donnell Branch CCE and Irish Heritage Society of Milford present:

Friday, March 20, 2020 at 7 pm

Tickets $10 (Doors open 6 pm)

Seven-time all-Ireland champion John Whelan is one of the world’s best living Irish button accordion players. This year he celebrates 50 years of performing Irish music. Along with his All-Ireland Championships, he was twice awarded musician of the year from the Irish Music Association. A former Milford resident, John has returned for a special concert. Here is a great and rare chance to see John again in Connecticut in an intimate concert setting!

Joining John will be Dylan Foley, one of the great fiddle players of our time, an All-Ireland Fiddle Champion, delighting audiences from Lincoln Center to Irish Television channels RTE and TG4. Amember of The Yanks, the hot trad band that has been called” the next Irish American  dream team”, Dylan is committed to passing on the tradition, as it was graciously passed to him, by the incomparable Rose Flanagan and others. Dylan released a solo CD last year called Deliriously Happy to high acclaim.

A stylistically diverse guitar player and instructor who specializes in accompaniment of traditional Irish and Scottish fiddle playing, Conor Hearn has performed on programs like Brian O'Donovan's Celtic Sojourn. His work as a songwriter combines elements of traditional folk songs and literature, and DuJour magazine describes his singing as “flawlessly rugged.” Conor has performed with renowned fiddle icons like Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas and folk legends like Keith Murphy.

CT Audubon Milford Point-Talk-Oystering Long Island Sound

The oyster is often described as a slippery, briny foodie’s delight but to some it’s not so appealing. Whether you love to eat them or not, these fascinating bivalves are an integral part of the Long Island Sound ecosystem. An oyster can filter an average of 50 gallons of water a day! Join us for a talk by local oysterman, Larry Fernandes who will share his experiences and knowledge of harvesting oysters and fishing in Long Island Sound.

Larry Fernandes, of Larry’s Lobsters LLC, has always had a love of the water ever since his father took him lobstering at the age of five. At age eleven he started clamming for fun. In September of 1991, he started his own lobster business. When the lobsters died off in 1999, he started fishing for whelk and began offshore lobstering. Larry went onto open a seafood wholesale company and in 2013 he left the wholesale business and went into oystering. His passion and life-long, extensive knowledge of the marine environment contributes to Larry’s success in oyster farming.

Members $7/person; Non-members $10/person. Pre-registration required.
