TAX PREPARATION
The Vita Program will be providing
free income tax preparations for all ages and low income families January 26 to
April 5. Participants will be required
to register beginning January 7th
by calling 211 or online ucw.211ct.org/tax preparations will take place at the Milford Senior Center Sundays 11:00
a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Mondays 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
AHRENS PROGRAM
The Ahrens Program at
the Milford Senior Center provides respite time for caregivers during the
day. The program is designated for
individuals with cognitive impairments who may require a supervised
environment. During their stay in the
program, members are offered continental breakfast, enjoy various activities,
which include arts and crafts, table games, cognitive-fit games, exercise,
music and entertainment, trips and other special events. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Monday-Friday. Our warm and inviting
Ahrens Room is staffed with a staff with 47 years of combined experience and a
team of dedicated trained volunteers.
The cost to attend the Ahrens program is $10.00 a day for Milford residents and $15.00 a day for out-of-town

and its benefits for the mind, body and soul. You are invited to attend this
discussion at the Milford Senior Center, Thursday, January 9th at

NIGHT
The Milford Senior Center is
introducing a new activity the second Monday of each month beginning Monday,
January 13 at 5:55 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This fun and entertaining evening will

SAFETY JEOPARDY “GAME” SHOW
Traffic safety will be enhanced by
the Jeopardy Traffic Safety Program
presented by Alec Slatky, Director of Public and Government Affairs, AAA
Northeast during a discussion at the Milford Senior Center, Tuesday, January 21st
at 1:00 p.m. at the Milford Senior 9 Jepson Drive.
UNDERSTANDING
SLEEP
There is a program at the Milford Senior Center Wednesday,
January 22nd at 1:00 p.m. that provides
an opportunity to learn why sleep and the quality of it is so important. This is an interactive program that explores
sleep in general and how it affects many
aspects of health. You can learn how
effective managements of options along
with self-assessment tools for each participant identifies areas of sleep improvement. The program is presented by The Orange
Rehabilitation Care Center. The Milford Senior Center is located at 9 Jepson

HEALTHY
COOKING DEMO
A Healthy
Cooking Program will be presented at the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive,
Thursday, January 23rd at 1:00 p.m. A cooking demonstration will
provide an opportunity for you to expand your cooking repertoire. During this
experience you will learn step-by step how to prepare a delicious and
nutritious yet simple meal. This program is being presented by the Kitchen
Staff at the Golden Hill Rehab

Natural Ways
to support the immune system will be presented Wednesday, January 29 at 1:00
p.m. at the Milford Senior Center 9
Jepson Drive. The discussion will be led by Kara Cholewinski, a third year
Student Clinician at the University of Bridgeport School of Naturopathic Medicine. Her
presentation will consist of Natural Ways to support the Immune System during
the cold and flu season.
