Milford Trick or Trot 5K

Milford Trick or Trot 5K
The 8th Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Beth-El Center will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019 beginning at Lisman Landing (37 Helwig St. in Milford) at 9:00am. Run or walk a 3.2 mile scenic route through Milford. Kids Fun Run starts at 8:45. New: pet costume contest.

Fee is $27.00 per person for advanced registration/$35 same day. Price Includes bib, t-shirt and post race breakfast and entertainment. Register at www.milfordtrickortrot.com.

Come on a scarily good 90-minute Spirits of Milford Ghost Walk, where you’ll be enthralled and entertained with stories about the distraught Paugusset Indian who strangled and killed her two young sons; the three deadly curses cast on Charles Island; why 300-year-old Capt. Stephen Stow has never left his home; the accused Colonial witch buried in Milford Cemetery; and so many more. Blending the macabre with known history, this spirited, lantern-lit walk follows a roughly 1.15-mile loop through downtown Milford, including stops at some of the city's oldest homes and Milford Cemetery. Participants who desire also get the chance to try out paranormal investigation tools like EMF detectors and dowsing rods. Cost for advance tickets is $18 per person. Winter Heating Assistance program
Monday, November 4th at 1:00 p.m. the Milford Senior Center will host The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) at 9 Jepson Drive.  This program is designed to help offset the winter heating costs of lower income households, specifically those households whose income falls at or below 60% of the state medium income.  The presentation is by TEAM Inc. and hosted by State Senator James Maroney.  You may call Program Director Amanda Berry at 203-877-5131 for additional information.

WBA's Swing Dance Benefit

Won't you please join us on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Gabriel's Hall as we gather for an exciting and fun time dancing to swing music from "Survivors Swing Band" to benefit the Walnut Beach Association and their community events. Tickets are $25.00 pp and will include a buffet from Lasse's Restaurant, dessert, coffee, soda and water. This is an adult-only, BYOB public event, so please bring your drink of choice. Veterans Day will be celebrated at the Milford Senior Center, Friday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m.  Veterans and a guest will receive a patriotic tribute following the performing of Taps at the base of the Center’s flag pole at 9:30 a.m. The Center’s band, The Note Ables, under the direction of Linda Whittaker and the Center’s Choral Group, directed by Rosemary Boone will also participate at the event.
