The Note Ables Milford Senior Center Band Perform at Center

 Milford Senior Center Band Concert

            The Milford Senior Center Band, “The Note Ables” under the direction of Linda Whittaker will perform at a concert Wednesday, July 3, 1:15 p.m. at the Center, 9 Jepson Drive. The concert, “Fourth of July Happy Birthday America Celebration”  is free and open to the public.  The Center’s Gospel Choir, directed by Debera Fellenbaum will also be performing during the concert.   In addition, various  members will  be presenting readings, poetry and music.  Mayor Ben Blake will be attending the event and will read his Proclamation. 203 877-5131

Spirits of Milford Ghost Walks

Come on a scarily good 90-minute Spirits of Milford Ghost Walk, where you’ll be enthralled and entertained with stories about the distraught Paugusset Indian who strangled and killed her two young sons; the three deadly curses cast on Charles Island; why 300-year-old Capt. Stephen Stow has never left his home; the accused Colonial witch buried in Milford Cemetery; and so many more. Blending the macabre with known history, this spirited, lantern-lit walk follows a roughly 1.15-mile loop through downtown Milford, including stops at some of the city's oldest homes and Milford Cemetery. Participants who desire also get the chance to try out paranormal investigation tools like EMF detectors and dowsing rods. Cost for advance tickets is $18 per person. Walk-up ticket price is $23 per person, paid in EXACT CASH only. Children 4 and under are free.  I-Phone Class for Intermediates

            An I-Phone Class for Intermediates, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., will be available Monday through Thursday, July 8th to 11th at the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive. The four day classes will include lessons on Apple applications and the App Store.  Users with non-Apple smartphones (Android, Google, Samsung, etc.) may have difficulty with this course.  Space is limited.  Registration is at the Center’s front office. 203-877-5131

JUNIOR PROGRAMS 2019 CAMPS

July 23th through July 25th

Ages 10 to 14- Three day program for the junior golfer with little or some golf experience. Class meets Tuesday and Wednesday 10am until 1pm and Thursday 10am until 2:30pm. Class covers the swing, short game, care of the course, etiquette, and more. The last day the students will have a morning lesson and then go out on the course. Snacks and drinks provided, lunch on Thursday. Cost $115 per student.

                                     July 16th through July 18th 9am to 11pm

Ages 7 to 11- Three day program for the junior with little or no golf experience. The class covers the swing, short game, rules, etiquette and more. Snacks and drinks are provided. Cost is $45 per student.

ADVANCED I

August 6 through 9

Ages 12 to 16- Four day program for the junior golfer looking to play at a more competitive level. Class meets from 9am until 3pm. Four days of lessons and golf. Class will cover the swing, short game, playing in all conditions, video analysis and more. Lunch is included each day. Cost is $195 including lunch, prizes, hat.

SUMMER SESSIONS

- Ages 6 to 8- For the young golfer with little or no golf experience.

Class covers the swing, rules, etiquette.

 Class meets for one hour July 30 and 31 9:30 to 11:00.

Prizes and hat included. Cost is $40. July 30 and 31

2019 Summer Nights by Harbor Lights

Beagles and MAC is a triple tribute band formed in 2018, faithfully recreating the music and harmonies of three iconic bands, The Beatles, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac. Combining the talents of members of the Destiny Band, Third Rail Acoustic and Penny Lane, Beagles and MAC’s harmonies are unmatched, as they play some of the greatest music of the past half century.                   The Milford Historical Society's summer exhibit is "Our Town - Our Story," a display of more than 200 images from the Daniel and Roma Moger Photo Collection showing scenes from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The Sociey is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free; donations gratefully accepted. Docent-led tours of the Eells-Stow House and the Clark-Stockade House are also free.
