Featured Musicians – Caitlin Finley (fiddle) and Will Woodson (flute and uilleann pipes)

Originally from Philadelphia, Caitlin Finley learned much of her music from some of the great traditional players who live in the Philly area. As a teenager, she took fiddle lessons from Rose Flanagan and Brian Conway, and subsequently fell in love with the fiddle music of Sligo. While Caitlin’s interest in Sligo fiddling has not diminished, she has since developed a great love of Northern music, and her playing reflects the influence of both traditional styles. Caitlin has performed throughout the Philadelphia and New York area with various musicians, including Mick Moloney, Billy McComiskey, and Dylan Foley. Since leaving Philadelphia, Caitlin has lived in New York, where she played an active part in the city’s traditional music scene. She now lives in Boston, where she can often be found playing in the city’s numerous and superb sessions.

Tiny Tots Talents Youtube Competition

Ages 3-6

Join us as we celebrate the holidays with our talents tots. This is a fundraiser for Art in CT Corporation, a 501c3 nonprofit. Children ages 3-6 will submit 1-2 minutes videos showcasing their talent in music, theater and dance. All those who qualify will be added to the website for all to vote. The top 20 will go on to round II to a live performance with judge, live audience performing in front of hundreds. The final round III will include exciting gifts, prizes, contracts and more. Wreaths Across America in Milford Mayor Benjamin B.                                                                         Guardianship and Conservatorship Discussion

                                                                        Cold and Flu Treatment Options

            Thursday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m. there will be a discussion on natural cold and flu treatment options at the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive.  Fourth Year Naturopathic Student Mosstafa Tahini,  Clinician at the University of Bridgeport, will discuss food and lifestyle techniques to support one’s immune system as well as review herbal and nutritional supplements that can be used during the cold and flu season. 203 877-5131 for details.

            Sascha Vancreveld, occupational therapist and Kari Webster, home health specialist with Kindred at Home, will present Tips and Tricks to make Life easier at home, Wednesday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the Milford Senior Center 9 Jepson Drive.                                                                         Movie Matinee

            The movie, Home Again, a romantic comedy set in Los Angeles will be shown at the Milford Senior Center Friday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m.  The movie’s circa 2013 will be start at 1:00 p.m. at the Center, 9 Jepson Drive. 203 877-5131 for details.

                                                                        Martin Luther King Day Closing

            The Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive will be closed Monday, January 21^st in observance of Martin Luther King Day.

                                                                        Emotional Freedom Techniques

            An interactive presentation on how to use Emotional Freedom Techniques/Tapping will take place at the Milford Senior Center Tuesday, January 22^nd at 1:00 p.m.  The program will explain calming methods to your mind and body by Joann Dunsing, Milford Hypnotist .                                                                         Vertigo Discussion

            You are welcome to join Katy Sullivan, PT, DPT from Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center of Orange to discuss Vertigo at the Milford Senior Center, Wednesday,  January 23 at 1:00 p.m. If you have experienced dizziness, imbalance, headaches or ringing in your ears, you may want to visit this presentation.                                                                         Alzheimer’s- The Disease

            The Milford Senior Center is hosting a discussion on Alzheimer’s Disease, Thursday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to identify Alzheimer’s and strategies for living with this disease, for both the family and the individual.  Orlando Rivera, C.O.O., A Touch of Love Home Care.                 Milford Arts performs These Shining Lives, a play based on the book, February 1 – 17.  

                At the January book discussion, members of the cast will be performing a scene from the play.  Plus, those who attend the book discussion will get a discount on a ticket to the play on opening weekend.  If that’s not enough, there will be a cast talk-back after the performances on Friday and Sunday afternoon!
