A wonderful vibrant market held from 4-7 pm on the third Thursday of every month.  Follow us on Facebook at Walnut Beach Farmers' Market and see the different exciting and inviting monthly themes for our shoppers and vendors.  

We have 2 Farms, River Crest and Massaro, that come with their plants and produce plus 16 other vendors.  There's live music and games and fun for the kids and everyone! Hatter and Tatter face painting and crafts at every market.  Along with teas, seafood, pet products, jewelry, fresh  lamb, and seafood. 

The market also has local food trucks with their delicious desserts and pizza (Silver Sands Pizza).

 Milford Library is hosting an anime club for high school students. The Young Adult Librarian will show various anime, and offer an opportunity for fans to discuss manga!

            This event is for students in grades 9 through 12. Call the Reference Desk at 203-783-3292 to sign up for Thursday, July 19 at 6:00pm at Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave in Milford. The library also offers a second anime club for middle school students on the first Thursday of each month.

Milford Public Library is offering a demonstration of Amazon’s artificial intelligence (AI) Alexa, on Saturday, July 21 from 2:30-3:00pm. This is a general overview so that people who have not used an Echo before have a basic understanding of what can be done with such an AI.                                                 Vendors Welcome at Christmas in July Tag Sale

            The Milford Senior Center at 9 Jepson Drive is hosting a Christmas in July Tag Sale Sunday, July 22, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in their building at 9 Jepson Drive.

            Vendors are welcome to participate and are requested to call Program Director Amanda Berry at 203 877-5131 for details. The Christmas in July Tag Sale is anticipating a large turnout and it is suggested vendors place their request for a $15.00 table as soon as possible.

            The Christmas in July Tag Sale presents an excellent opportunity to shop in the comfort of an air conditioned building with plenty of parking.  With an abundance of interesting items to view, the Center’s offerings of tag sale items will provide an afternoon of pleasant, comfortable, interesting shopping.

Libraries rock! Milford Library welcomes Brian Gillie on July 25 at 6:30pm. Fast-paced, interactive and hip, Brian Gillie’s musical performance “The Roots of Rock ‘n’ Roll” is unlike any history lesson you will ever see or hear. Gillie sings and dances his way through this one-hour retro-groove. History, humor, costumes, props, original sound bites, stand-up piano-playing, radio commercials, impersonations and attitude serve to reveal the sound of rock ‘n’ roll through its first fifteen years. Meet the personalities and hear the songs that shaped the music of doo-wop, Motown, girl groups, surfin’, soul, novelty tunes and much more: Little Richard to Coasters, Chuck Berry to Beatles, Elvis to the Four Seasons.

Gillie was formerly a full-time performance/educator with Arts for Learning CT and the CT Commission on Arts and Tourism.

This program is free and open to the public.

Parking is limited; please consider parking at Lisman Landing and walking over Hotchkiss Bridge.
