Our Youth Group is raising money for our Hurricane Relief Mission Trip. We are traveling to Houston in June to help families recover from Hurricane Harvey.  Thank you for your support!  Ask us about our service trip.

On Wednesday, February 21 at 7pm, join us at Milford Library, 57 New Haven Ave. as Stephen Spignesi explores a whole other side of our nation’s leaders. From George Washington to Barack Obama, this collection of weird and wild—but true!—facts will shed light on the little-known quirkiness of our presidents. Just a sampling:

• Andrew Jackson married a bigamist.
• Martin Van Buren wore pistols in the Senate chamber in case things got too rowdy.
• Franklin Pierce ran over a woman with his horse while in office and was arrested, but police released him once they realized he was the president.
• James Garfield could simultaneously write Greek with one hand and Latin with the other.
• Dwight D. Eisenhower’s nickname for his staff driver was “Private Parts.”
• Barack Obama can bench press 200 pounds.

It can be difficult to prepare meals for one or two people, but there is helpful information for those that fall into that category.  The Milford Senior Center at 9 Jepson Drive is hosting a downsized gourmet dinner preparation demonstration Thursday, February 22^nd at 1:00 p.m. You may RSVP to the Center’s front office, 203 877-5131.

Milford Public Library is offering an overview of Microsoft Excel at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 22nd to get people started using Excel. Basic functions such as formatting cells, summing columns, and sorting data will be demonstrated. Milford Public Library is located at 57 New Haven Avenue in Milford, CT. An opportunity to enjoy the movie, Hidden Figures, a story of three black female mathematicians at NASAS who played a key role in launching astronaut John Glenn into outer space.                  This is the time of year when we all need as much sun and color as we can manage.   The dreary, gray days of winter hang on, and it’s nice to get a fresh pop of color through our windows.

                Milford Library is presenting a workshop to make colorful suncatchers to brighten your day. All materials and instructions will be provided at this free event.

 Middle school students are invited to attend Milford Library’s Crunchyroll anime club. The Young Adult Librarian will be showing episodes from Crunchyroll, an anime streaming site, and will be offering an opportunity for fans to discuss anime, manga, and Japan! Light refreshments will be served.

            The club is for students in grades 6 through 8. Call the Reference Desk at 203-783-3292 to sign up. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month. The next meeting will be Thursday, March 1 at 6:00pm at Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave in Milford.
