2017 Walnut Beach Arts Festival

The Walnut Beach Association proudly hosts the 19th Annual Walnut Beach Arts & Crafts Festival on the first Sunday of August. Founded in 1999 and initially known as Walnut Beach Day, it is a celebration of our seashore community . Today the Festival welcomes 3,500 visitors and includes a 5K race on the morning of the event, a children's race, two free concerts at the pavilion, a multi-ethnic food court and an impressive array of artists and crafters from Connecticut and surrounding states.

 August 8          Tuesday         Managing Your Wounds – 1:00 p.m. Come learn a practical approach to managing wounds: what to look for, how to care for them, when to seek medical attention. Get to know how certain medical conditions may limit your body’s ability to heal. Learn how to identify wounds, the importance of wound care and when a discussion with your doctor and advanced care may be necessary.  Led by Christina Newton, Program Director and Janice Mezick, RN Clinical Manager of the Advanced Wound Care center at Milford Hospital.

E.P.I.C. Networking Event - Bar Louie

The next networking event will be at Bar Louie, located in the Connecticut Post Mall, on Wednesday, August 9 at 6 pm. While we are not charging members, we are asking all who attend to contribute at least $10 worth of school supplies to be donated to the Salvation Army/United Way of Milford "Stuff-a-Back Pack" program, which benefits over 400 Milford students annually. Items we are collecting will specifically benefit high school students - examples are flash drives, 3-ring binders, pens, pencils, and notebooks - monetary donations are also accepted. At 8 pm we will switch over to a trivia night, so all you trivia nerds come out and show us how intelligent you are. If you join us you're guaranteed to have an E.P.I.C. time!  We are also asking you to RSVP to smitchell@bridgesmilford.org for the Bar Louie event.
