At Milford Library on Wednesday, March 29 at 7:00 PM, Art Doyle and Bob
Daniels, of the New Haven Mineral
Club, will be presenting a talk on the
rich geological history of Connecticut. The presentation will focus on the
formation of minerals and fossils in our state.
230 million years ago, Connecticut
was connected to Africa, and early dinosaurs roamed our state.
Volcanic activity was forming West Rock, East Rock, Sleeping
Giant, and the Higby Mountain range.
The discussion will include examples of mineral specimens and
fossils that can be found in various localities throughout Connecticut.
Doyle and Daniels will also discuss an upcoming field trip to Case Quarry in Portland,
Connecticut. Please call Bob Daniels at
