James Griffin, while a native New
Englander, has been a student of the frontier West for a very long time. He has travelled extensively throughout the
Western United States, and has visited many of the Western frontier towns.
Griffin
developed a particular interest in the Texas Rangers television series. Subsequently he wrote a series of Texas
Ranger novels. His first book, Trouble
Rides The Texas Pacific, was
published in 2005. With the success of
that book, Jim was encouraged to continue his writing.
Griffin’s
books are traditional Westerns in the best sense of the term, with strong
heroes who have good moral values. Jim
will discuss the Western as a literary genre, and will do a live re-enactment
from one of his novels. The Program will
be held at the Milford Public Library at 57 New Haven Avenue. All are welcome to attend.
