The Milford Public Library will host a workshop on the Affordable Care Health Insurance Plans for 2019 on Tuesday November 13 at 4 pm.

Starting on Nov. 1 through December 15, you can purchase insurance on Access Health CT. Trish Pearson is an experienced insurance provider who can find you the best policy, price and service. She will discuss the various plans that are available as well as the subsidies.

The Exchange is the marketplace for finding and enrolling in healthcare coverage. Trish Pearson works with many of the leading insurance companies. She is able to find you the best plan on the marketplace.  If you wish to change plans or have questions, then come to this valuable workshop.    The session is free and open to all.

Former alderman Joe Garbus will be appearing at Milford Library on November 13 at 6:30 pm  to sign copies of his short memoir, Kid From Pinsk.

Born in Russia during World War II, his family was sent to a slave labor camp in Siberia. The journey with his family is filled with hardship and terror. He describes his arrival in America in 1951 as “when my second life started.” 

Though he spoke no English, through hard work and determination he was selected for the US Army’s elite Ranger unit and served in Korea. He settled in Milford in 1984 and served as an alderman representing Walnut Beach. 

All are welcome to hear his amazing, moving story. Copies of his book are for sale for $20.00. Cash or check.

Foldit: Play Games That Aren’t Games - Gamification

 Milford Public Library is presenting a program on gamification and the free puzzle game Foldit. Foldit is actually a sophisticated scientific tool that doctors use through crowdsourcing for protein research. There are several such puzzle “games” on the internet free to play that help scientists with their research. Come down on Saturday, November 17, at 2:30pm and see how you can have fun gaming while also helping to solve real world problems. 2.) the naturalization test ;  3.) The rights and responsibilities of U.S. Citizenship.
