MILFORD SENIOR CENTER POWER OF ATTORNEY LAW

               Connecticut’s New Power of Attorney Law will be discussed at the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson drive, Monday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m.

               “More Power, More Responsibility” will be among the topics discussed during the informative program during a presentation by a member of the Drazen Law Group.  The state’s law governing Power of Attorney, in which you designate someone else to make decisions on your behalf, was outdated.  The new law which was enacted in the Fall of 2016, has more protections, spells out the agent’s duties better and makes them more accountable.  This program is open to the public. 203 877-5131 for additional information.

The Milford Senior Center at 9 Jepson Drive is offering a Scrapbooking Program Tuesday, December 5, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. According to Program Director Amanda Berry, scrapbooking is an activity that engages the whole person. It is suggested you bring up to 5 photos to craft your story as one learns to  revive memories. Register by Friday, December 1^st at the Center’s front office as space is limited.  Interested individuals may attend this program as long as you would like. 203 877-5131. 

Milford Library, 57 New Haven Ave., welcomes the Coastal Chordsmen on December 5 at 7pm.   The Coastal Chordsmen is a Men's Barbershop Chorus from Trumbull, CT and surrounding towns.  They entertain audiences all over New England with their unique style of high-energy barbershop harmony.   They will be performing a holiday program, with songs ranging from hymns to Jingle Bells. All are welcome to this free performance.

            Wednesday, December 6, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Party will take at 1:00 p.m. at the Milford Senior Center, 9 Jepson Drive.  The Center’s Chorus Group and band, The Note Ables, under the direction of Linda Whittaker will perform.  The Writer’s Unlimited Class will present a Holiday skit.  Refreshments will be served. 203 877-5131

     The annual Holiday Craft Fair at the Milford Senior Center is preparing to hold its popular craft show, Thursday, December 7, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The exquisite craft items are created by a very talented group of women who excel in the creation of attractive, handmade  holiday creations.

    The event provides an excellent opportunity to shop for those very special relatives and friends during this busy shopping season.

Christmas Spirits of Milford Ghost Walks: a 2017-18 holiday SPOOKTACULAR, taking place on 9 nights only!

Stories about Christmas ghosts and Milford history will come together for nine special Christmas Spirits of Milford Ghost Walks at 7 p.m. Dec. 8, 9, 15, 22, 23, 29 and 30, as well as Jan. 5 and 6. Guided by a flickering lantern light, walkers will follow Milford writer and storyteller Cindy Wolfe Boynton on a roughly 1.5-mile route that starts at the World War I monument in front of Milford City Hall on River Street and ends at Milford Cemetery. The Christmas bride who died on her wedding night, the young girl found dead with tinsel in her hair, and the ghost of a carol-singer who appears just once a year will be among the spooky stories told. Advance tickets, purchased online, are $18 and recommended, as space on each walk is strictly limited. Walk-up tickets are $23 each, with exact cash required. Children 4 and under are free. Experience the holidays in a different way with the jazz sounds of the Bob Kolb Trio.   Bob Kobl (tenor sax), David Childs (piano) and Stephen Roane (bass), will delight you with the cool sounds of traditional jazz. You’ll hear your favorite holiday songs in a whole new way!   The Bob Kolb Trio will be performing at Milford Library, 57 New Haven Ave., on Sunday, December 10 at 2pm.   All are welcome to this free event.
