Solarize Milford

Milford Launches Award-Winning Residential Solar Program

Tuesday June 27 at 7 pm at Milford Library

The City of Milford has been selected to participate in an award-winning residential

Solar program that makes going solar easy and affordable. Solarize Milford is part of Solarize Connecticut -- the groundbreaking residential solar program managed by the non-profit organization, SmartPower. Solarize Connecticut has helped thousands of Connecticut residents save money on energy bills by going solar.

Solarize Milford is a coordinated effort across the community, supported by the City of Milford. Through a competitive selection process, the City and its Energy Advisory Board have selected Ross Solar, a Con Edison Solutions company as their solar installer. Ross Solar will provide the solar installations in Milford at special discount pricing in exchange for enhanced outreach and education from the City.

Solarize Milford also offers residents access to financing options that make going solar affordable with no upfront costs. SmartPower has partnered with Dividend Solar to help qualified residents save money with the $0 down financing option. Other financing resources are available through Milford’s solar installer.

The program will be held at the Milford Public Library and is open to all.

Residents can learn about the program, be introduced to their solar installer, hear about financing options, and have a chance to learn if their house is good for solar.

Khalif and Charles Neville in concert

Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at 7:30 pm

Tickets are $35 and $30 for MAC members.

Come join us Saturday, for a return performance by Charles Neville, this time, with his son Khalif an experienced jazz pianist with a newly released album.  It will be cabaret seating for an intimate performance with drinks available in our new “Speakeasy” lounge.

Charles Neville and his son, Khalif Neville come to the Milford Center for the Arts to play a mix of jazz classics and original music.  Two years ago Charles Neville played at the Milford Center for the Arts to a sold out crowd.

Charles Neville, the second oldest Neville brother, has the most diverse musical background. His experience on saxophone has included rhythm & blues, funk, jazz, be-bop, popular and even American Indian music. He cites as influences Louis Jordan, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Professor Longhair. He is also the only brother that lived away from New Orleans for long periods of time, making places like New York, Memphis and Oregon his home.  Visit http://www.charlesnevillesite.com/

Khalif Neville, son of famed New Orleans Jazz musician Charles Neville, has come into his musical own. With his newest release 'Discerning the Transmudance', he throws a new twist on some classics, and he and his father highlight their compositional skills with originals such as Cubano and Kiko.   To learn more about Khalif and listen to his latest music, go to https://www.khalifnevillejazz.com/.
