10th Annual Slainte IHSM Scholarship Golf Outing

Come and enjoy a day on the green.  11 am is check-in and luncheon followed by 12:30 pm Shotgun Start Tee Time.  Scramble format, 18 holes of golf with a cart.  No metal spikes please and repair all divots.  Irish Coffee at the turn and generous refreshments on the course all day.  At 5:30 pm there will be a "19th Hole" Reception.  Enjoy refreshments and the good company of your fellow golfers and their friends after your round.  Two hour ope4n bar with a large selection of hors d'oeuvres & snacks.  Our 19th Hole reception is open to all friends of our golfers for just $30.  At 7:30 pm the Golf & Auction results are announced.  The charge for golfing is $175 per person.  Entry deadline is May 27th.  Send checks, payable to Slainte to Slainte/IHSM, 131 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford, CT 06460

Network of Executive Women, Milford Chapter

The Network of Executive Women is a Milford, CT based organization where women business owners and executives share ideas and promote and support one another's endeavors, accomplishments and goals. The group meets monthly for luncheons plus regular networking and educational events.


The Network of Executive Women is also dedicated to providing educational opportunities for women in need of financial assistance by awarding annual scholarships to be applied toward tuition and/or books. These scholarships are funded through Network sponsored events, member participation and private donations.

Luncheons

Luncheons are held on the first Tuesday of the month. Come and meet with other business women. We'll have an interesting and informative guest speaker or enjoy a networking activity.

Pirates Weekend

Avast ye hearties! You know summer is here when the Pirates arrive in Downtown Milford -- and there’s no better way to celebrate the 15th Annual Pirates Weekend! Saturday night from 6:00-10:00pm Pirates Ball will take place in Fowlers Pavilion. Then,  Pancakes with Pirates takes place on Sunday, June 11th from 9:00-11:00am at Lisman Landing.

 Pirates Ball includes a night of food, fun, and the sounds of  "Changes in Latitudes" the country's premier Jimmy Buffett tribute band! Tickets for this event are just $25.

Sunday Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, orange juice, coffee, and tea! In addition, there will be plenty of photograph opportunities with pirates as well as face painting and balloon twisters. Tickets for this event are $10.

Remember to dress your seaworthy best and get your tickets soon as they are limited. This event benefits CT Firefighters Charitable Foundation and Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp. Kick off summer with a bang and get your tickets before they sell out!

Ask a Lawyer

 

In celebration of the 51st Anniversary of Law Day on May 1, 2017, the Milford Bar Association, in recognition of the ideas of equality and justice for all, invites the Public to attend a free legal informational clinic to be held on Saturday June 10 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the Program Room at the Milford Library, 57 New Haven Ave. in Milford. 

            Participants can meet with a member of the Milford Bar Association for 15-20 minutes and discuss general legal information of one’s choice, and thereafter be provided with referrals to legal services, other agencies, a private attorney, or a useful legal website should you wish to do your own personal research. Legal pamphlets will also be available for a limited number of legal topics. Interested parties are asked to contact Attorney Walter Sawicki at (203) 647-2009 to schedule a time slot or you may attend on a walk –in basis. On behalf of the Milford Bar Association, our current President, Erica Wikstrom, welcomes your participation.

Pirates Ball - DMBA

You know summer is here when the Pirate's arrive in Downtown Milford – and there’s no better way to celebrate the 15th Annual Pirate's Weekend than with a Ball! New for this year, The Pirate’s Ball takes place on Saturday, June 10 from 6-10pm. Join us in Fowler's Pavilion (behind the Library) for a night food, fun and the sounds of "Changes in Latitudes", the country's premier Jimmy Buffett Band!

No Pirate’s Ball would be complete without a costume contest – so dress your seafaring best! The winner gets to ride with Captain Kidd himself aboard the “Oz” the following morning, when he and his crew capture Milford.
Food Trucks, Vendors, Dancing, and Changes in Latitudes – kick off summer with a bang! Hurry – tickets are limited. Get yours before they sell out!
Please note this is a 21+ event. Everyone will be carded at registration.

MONTHLY SCOUT REDEEMABLE BOTTLE/CAN FUNDRAISER

Next Sunday, June 11th, Saint Mary Boy Scout Troop 721 and Cub Scout Pack 721 will be holding their Monthly Bottle & Can Collection Fundraiser. Please bring your redeemable bottles and cans to the parking lot behind Saint Mary Church between 7:30 AM and 1:45 PM.  If you have been saving your redeemable in your garage, basement, back porch, or backyard, this is the perfect time to do your spring cleaning get rid of these. This monthly fundraiser provides the funds needed to support our programs.  We sincerely appreciate those of you who consistently donate every month and we welcome new comers to bring their redeemable Bottles and Cans to support our program. If you are interested in our Scouting Program, stop by the fundraiser and we'd be happy to speak with you.
