This is a fun and festive way to kick off the holiday season! Please join us for a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice. As always, Santa will be there and available for photos or for sharing your Christmas Wish List! Keepsake photos with frame will be available for purchase. Mrs. Claus will also be joining Santa again this year and she will be reading Christmas stories to all interested at 8:30, 9:30 & 10:30 a.m. Our St. Mary's elves have been busy creating beautiful holiday crafts for you to purchase. There will also be a raffle to beautifully decorated mini Christmas trees, each uniquely decorated by our talented room moms. Admission at the door is $8 per person, (age 3 and up). Children under 3 are admitted free.

Literacy Center's "Winter Sprinter"
Run or walk, for a good “Claus” at The Literacy Volunteer of Southern CT’s WINTER SPRINTER to be held in Downtown Milford on Sunday, December 4, 2016. The sprinter will convene at the Parsons Auditorium at 9:30 - 10:45 AM for registration. 11:00 AM is GO (when the race starts).
Join hundreds of Santa’s & Elves as we hit the streets in downtown Milford! Get your family and friends and join us for the first Winter Sprinter. Enjoy holiday music, candy, and cookies along the course. The timed 3-mile challenge will begin and end at the Parsons Auditorium in a grand finale filled with awards for runners and walkers for fastest/best costumes/best time and many more. There will also be a 1-...mile challenge for people to participate in.
The registration fee is $30. The course is mostly flat with 2 small hills. This race is rain or shine. There are no refunds. Dress warm, dress in costume … bring a camera for Selfies with Santa.
Children under 5 are free. Every participant will receive a free tee shirt to wear while they run, walk, and help raise funds in support of the Center’s vital literacy programs for hundreds of local
adults and children in need of its educational services. Spread the holiday joy by bringing an unopened / unwrapped child’s toy to donate for Toys for Tots. Milford Fire Department will be collecting.
The mission of the Literacy Volunteers of Southern Connecticut is to provide services at no cost to any individual who wishes to learn the English language or enhance their reading, writing, speaking and math skills necessary to lead productive lives in our community. Their programs reach more than 100 adult students each year and more than 1200 children.

Holiday Concert, NE Guitar Society
For their performance at the Stratford Library, NEGS members and student youth will be performing standard classical guitar repertoire such as Spanish classics and Baroque dances by Johann Sebastian Bach. Holiday favorites will be featured as well. Admission is Free! This concert is made possible in part through the Claudia McCoach Memorial Fund.

Annual Holiday Festival & Tree Lighting - Orange
The Town of Orange invites you to attend the Annual Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Festivities on and around the Orange Town Green will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Visitors may tour the Stone-Otis House to learn what a Victorian Christmas was like.
The Academy Building and the antique shop will be open and invites you to view the Historical Society’s antique collections and Emily Prudden Watercolors, as well as the New Haven to Derby line model railroad in the lower level from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
The Orange Congregational Church Bell Choir will perform a hand bell concert and carol sing in the church sanctuary from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. as well as an alternative giving opportunity for Heifer International, cookie sale and crafts for the kids from 3 - 5 p.m.
The Case Memorial Library will be splendidly decorated, and will host a performance
from Al deCant of Half Moon Music who will perform a children’s musical program in the library meeting room from 3:30 - 4:00 p.m. and from the Amity Chamber Singers who will perform from 4:15 - 4:30 p.m. Guess who many candies in the jar at the library and win
a prize, write a letter to Santa Claus and make a craft in the craft room. The Library will be open from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Annual Gingerbread Contest will be featured in the Clark Building. Friends of all ages are invited to enter a gingerbread creation. Entries must be dropped off at the Clark Building from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Dec. 4 and must be picked up between 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. The winner will be invited to light the Christmas Tree.
An ice carving demonstration will take place in front of the Clark Building from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Santa Claus will arrive at 5:00 p.m. The Tree Lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. Children may visit with Santa on the Town Green. The Holiday Festival will end at 6:00 p.m.... More >><< Less

Annual Lisman Holiday Concert
The Milford Fine Arts Council presents the annual Lisman Holiday Concert on Sunday. The concert will take place at Milford City Hall. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted at the door.
Tenor, Gary Harger will sing again this year. Mr. Harger is equally at home with opera, operetta, musical theatre, and the concert stage. He has been in many operas and concerts both in the United States and Europe. Mr. Harger teaches voice privately and has served on the faculty of the Hartt School and SCSU.
Jean-Pierre Dumont will join Gary on the piano. He currently serves as Minister of Music at Holy Infant Church in Orange. An outstanding and versatile keyboardist, he plays harpischord, organ, and piano. He is also an accomplished conductor and music director.
The Serendipity String Quartet will also perform. Andrew Smith, violin; Amy Jones-Ganatkin, violin; Jody Rowitsch, viola; and Andrea Mills, cello.
Performing again this year will be the Advanced Vocal Ensemble of Lauralton Hall.
