SUMMARY OF POSITION: This is skilled and minor supervisory masonry work in
brick and concrete construction maintenance and
repair. Work involves responsibility for
performing a variety of skilled masonry tasks in the installation and repair of
street, sidewalk, and storm sewer facilities.
Masonry work is performed according to accepted trade practices and the
employee directs workers of a lower class engaged in masonry and construction
activities. General direction from a
foreman is received and direct supervision from a working leader who assigns
and inspects work in progress and on completion. Supplies own tools appropriate to trade.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as a journeyman mason or completion of a standard trade apprenticeship. Ability to perform physical labor that involves repetitive bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying of up to 60 pounds. Ability to read and write. At time of application, must possess a valid State of Connecticut Driver’s License.
