Monarchs, Milkweed and You

Monarchs, Milkweed and You
Monarch butterflies are on the move to their overwintering grounds in Mexico. Learn all about this miraculous journey and much more, on Sunday, Sept. 23, 1 to 2 p.m., at The Connecticut Audubon Society’s Coastal Center at Milford Point.

The program begins indoors with a discovery talk about the importance of milkweed to the Monarch’s life cycle, the challenges Monarchs face in an ever-changing world and what you can do to help. Then we head outdoors to search for monarchs in our pollinator garden and around the Center grounds, and we’ll tag the ones we find.

The program runs rain or shine at The Connecticut Audubon Society’s Coastal Center in Milford, 1 Milford Point Rd. In the event of inclement weather, alternate indoor activities are planned. It’s appropriate for adults and families with children age 5 and up. No strollers please.

The cost is CAS members: $5 per person; non-members: $8 per person. Pre-registration is required for this event. Get more information or sign up at: www.ctaudubon.org/coastal-center; or call 203-878-7440, x502.
